ABSTRACT
A cartographical prototype that attempts to map out migratory practices, laws, and concepts on the geographical bases of “Strait of Gibraltar”. The interactivity element aims to deconstruct the ridged representations between Europe and the Other. Unlike traditional mapping practices, the viewer can navigate the geopolitical sphere of the West Mediterranean from his/her point(s) of view.
The technical process was initiated in a workshop by Anna Meïra Greunig , title as "Digital Narration", April 2022. The represented concepts are extracted from “On drifting”, a participatory lexicon, by the collective Calypso36°21, 2021.

ABSTRACT
The collection of witness testimonies and quantified statistics are displayed on a board of fields of actions. The players are led to understand: They are not playing the game. The game is playing with them. It is authorities who play with the lives of refugees and deprive them of their human rights. During the concept phase, Abou Bakar Sidibé contributed valuable feedback and insight into his own experience on EU border infrastructures.

ABSTRACT
Hoodies, T-Shirts, Bags, Risograph Postcards and Cups were designed, developed and produced to support initial funding acquisition through a crowdfunding campaign. A coherent set of icons and visual elements was proposed to structure and professionalise the visual representation of ROSA on its online platform and print production.
Simultaneously, the cooperation was the framework to develop a working model for communication design students in exchange with NGOs. How do we want to work with activists? What is the role of communication designers within these co-operations? Which spaces of creative freedom do we demand? How do we negotiate authorship, visibility and modes of service and support? Interviews with socially and politically active designers and activists were collected and summarised in a research paper for further engagement in similar co-operations

ABSTRACT
The first volume of this publication project covers the court case against the Halle assassin and problematizes the current discourse about right-wing terrorism.
Using DEMOCs protocols for a publication makes them available to academic and public discourse and enables distribution and contextualisation in libraries and the broader public.
The publication project comprises two books, each of which can be read separately, but which relate to and complement each other in terms of content and design. While the first volume documents all 26 days of the trial, the second volume contextualises both the trial itself and the crime and its background.
Both books place the Halle attack in a continuity of right-wing terror in Germany since 1945 and are intended to illuminate the trial as a legal and social form of dealing with this continuous form of terror.

ABSTRACT
The aim of the project is to promote dialogue between those in need and searching for health care and doctors, social workers, volunteers, aid organisations and the public. The ‘formats of dialogue’ we develop respond in their diversity to the multiplicity of circumstances, catering to the women*s’ diverse needs and aiming at embracing the plurality of perspectives. We provide an open access online register of resources as well as a publication informing about female* health care issues. We speak to medical professionals, social workers, volunteers and patients, do interviews and organise interdisciplinary panel discussions and hands-on workshops. To raise awareness about this issue we set up a poster campaign as well as graphic material to directly address politicians and express demands. We provide a network of resources, ‘formats of dialogue’ to facilitate access to health care for people with refugee and/or migration experience.

ABSTRACT
The project aims at connecting initiatives through an online platform, providing a shared space for local knowledge and practices as well as a place of exchange for specific needs and competencies facing the structural changes in the former eastern German coal regions. In addition facilitating access to small and mid-scale funding provided by the government and private corporations, in order to stabilise current cultural as well as economic activities. Allocating, bringing together, moderating and implementing co-creative solutions.
When presenting the platform to Stabsstelle Mitteldeutschland, the institution organising the process, they avoided clear plans to integrate the platform proposed - therefore a continuous development with CIVIC, Leipzig has been agreed on.

ABSTRACT
A website collects voice and text statements by the co-plaintiffs. The website uses a 3D model of the spatial setting in the courtroom as an immersive interface to connect voices and statements by co-plaintiffs to their spatiality and location within the courtroom. Who sees whom within the courtroom? Which perspectives are possible and which are hindered? How does this affect the public perception of the trial by the images possible?
Using this model as a structure to ask questions about the correlation of spatiality and media publicity aims at making the non-neutrality of court spaces visible and discussable. Through this, the project proposes focusing on the voices and opinions of those affected.
As in the case against the aggressor of Halle, 2019, he live-streamed his attacks to the gaming platform Twitch, the court case was not about basic guilt, but vastly about how the public perceives and negotiates the case. Therefore the project also aims at proposing other forms of focusing on the voices of those affected in those cases.

ABSTRACT
On the second anniversary of the attack, on Oct. 9th 2021, video installations and projections in public spaces in Halle (Saale) display short, concise but not under-complex statements. Various thematic complexes such as the narrative of the lone perpetrator, the work of the police and the importance of the Halle attack court case being a detailed case with strong co-plaintiffs are broached by the projections. Hereby viewers are encouraged to question their previous beliefs regarding the attacks on the synagogue in Halle.

ABSTRACT
The group collects, structures and distributes knowledge about sea rescue in order to share it with merchant vessels which usually play a minor role in sea rescue. Based on NGO practice experiences of Seawatch, Ocean Wiking and others we put together a booklet informing about Standard Operating Procedures (SOP): How to take people on board? What information to share first, which promises not to make? These briefings among others are provided in a sea-proof tool kit next to most basic materials necessary for sea rescue. By proposing a kit the project also addressed communication and product design to engage and support within the context of sea rescue more broadly.

ABSTRACT
A web-based participatory mapping platform collects documents as well as archives and visualises environmental issues. It moreover enables affected communities to contribute stories, texts and reports. Collecting and connecting activist groups and local knowledge aims at generating further exchange and solidarity amongst the people affected negatively by the extraction of minerals. Providing a framework for citizen journalism to enable those groups to create a collective narrative on counter activities.
On the map, environmental features are categorised and visualised according to involved actors, environmental, social and economic impacts and raw materials. Interested individuals are invited to participate and develop examples of data-based storytelling and an archive for situated-knowledges concerning big-scale mining.

ABSTRACT
The focus of my work for some time now has been on the situation of the Kurdish population in Turkey. The occasion was a workshop stay in Istanbul under the di- rection of „Beyond Istanbul - Center for spatial justice“, in which several NGO‘s participated. This exchange was followed by a six-month cooperation with the „Hafiza Merkezi/Truth Justice Memory Center“, a non-governmental organization dealing with the investigation of crimes against the Kurdish minority in the 1980s and 1990s. Since 2015, when the peace talks between the PKK and the Turkish state ended, this topic has been sadly up-to-date again. On 22 June 2018 I travelled with a delegation via the association „Cenî - Kurdish Women‘s Office for Peace“ to Diyarbakir for independent election observation. As one of about 150 election observers from several European countries I witnessed an election in a state of emergency and a massive intimidation of the population by excessive police and military presence. Diyarbakir is a city of millions which is currently undergoing an urban transformation process. During the clashes between the Turkish state and the youth organization YDG-H, there were several months of curfews in the old town of Sur. The use of heavy artillery intensified the fighting within a very short time, leading to the death of several civilians and massive damage to one of the oldest cities in the world. When the military operation officially ended in March 2016, the government implemented a so-called „urgent expropriation“, whereby almost the entire old town became the property of the government. Since then, about half of the old town has been razed to the ground to make way for villas that are unaffordable for Sur‘s over 20,000 displaced residents.

ABSTRACT
The work speculates on fictional results of such processes and questions. And proposes hybrid forms of architecture to illustrate the correlation between the built environment and social relations and society. The results are exaggerated visualisations of architectures which could be created within the concept of anarcho-capitalism, formally sourcing from hostile architectural elements, fences, walls, barbwires, barriers and walls. The images reflect on the effects which excessive theorisation and continuous marketisation of urban space could have and propose a critical reflection on these processes.

ABSTRACT
The LEJ GUIDE visualises the operations that take place at the Leipzig/Halle Airport and run invisibly and parallelly to civil transport. Aiming at creating a new visual layer of representation of a hidden infrastructural aspect of the space.
Operations such as deportation, military use as well as displacements in local settlements due to air-traffic-related building activity are made visible within an augmented reality app that can be used while taking part in the official guided tour organised by the airport authorities. Additionally, there is an embedded Google Earth map available through the app, which provides detailed information about legal actions against the airport by local initiatives. Also, additional documents by the European Commission and further texts and background information about these processes are made available through the website.

ABSTRACT
Based on the archive provided by the NGO Beyond Istanbul, a publication has been conceptualised collecting photographs and news coverage of the Gecekondu in Istanbul in the 20th and the beginning of the 21st century. The archive gathers over 500 newspaper clippings from all kinds of newspapers in Turkey going back to the first mention in 1932.
The book is to be read as a timeline correlating jurisdictional concerns parallel to housing struggles and social movements. The project aims at activating the archive, making it more present in public discourse and creating visibility of this grassroots counter practice for urban spatial development.

ABSTRACT
In cooperating with the group of lawyers and activists [SI] supported the investigation by making the circumstances around the fire visible. Contributing renderings of the spatial arrangements that led to the fire as well as the manipulation of the line of responsibility after the fire had occurred. The role of design was, by using renderings, photomontages and haptic models, to translate those selected elements of the court case and make aspects tangible and discussable in other forums.Images and models aimed at clarifying the risk being taken into account by those facilitating the construction at workers’ dispense and ultimately leading to eleven people dying. The title “Labor Murder” refers to fatal workplace accidents that could be prevented by following legally regulated safety rules. In Turkey, around 2,000 people die of work-related accidents each year.

ABSTRACT
The website virtual-memory.org contains a three-dimensional re-visualization model of the destroyed Roboski monument. When moved to the digital realm it can no longer be demolished and can be experienced regardless of location.
Preserving still present information about the monument from Google Street View led to a series of works that show 10 placeholder spheres for possible monuments. They are located in neighbourhoods of Diyarbakır province where more than 30 civilians died during the curfews that have been put in place forcefully in December 2015 by the Turkish government.
Collecting and archiving data and representing this data aims at creating discourse around the memorials that are left undiscussed. Asking questions of hegemony and power structures by proposing commemoration.
